Sales Management

Sales Management facilitates and automates discounting of the sales price of an item at POS.  It can be used recurring discounts for Happy Hour, for discount plans such a Mill River or for a scheduled sale.

Interface

To launch Sales Management, click on Sales Management in the POS Settings application group.

Tool Bar (outlined in red)

The Tool Bar has 5 menu options.

  • Add New Scheduled Discount
  • Edit Discount Schedule
  • Delete Rows (Discounts, Categories or Inventory Items)
  • Copy Current Discount Schedule to a New Discount Schedule
  • Show/Hide Schedules

Discount Listing (outlined in blue)

The Discount Listing is a list of all scheduled discounts.  You can expand any scheduled discount to see the inventory categories and items which are being discounted by clicking on the + sign on the left of each line.

Inventory Manager (outlined in green)

A tree view of the Inventory Manager appears in the upper left hand corner.  Categories and items to be discounted can be dragged from the Inventory Manager onto the Scheduled Discount.

Calendar (outlined in orange)

The calendar at the bottom of the form is used to set the schedule for the Scheduled Discount.

Manage Scheduled Discounts

Adding a Scheduled Discount

To add a scheduled discount, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Add the Discount

Click the Add New Scheduled Discount button on the Tool Bar.

Enter a name and description for the Scheduled Discount.

Next select the Discount Type by clicking on the drop down arrow.

Complete the Discount Rate, which is context sensitive to the Discount Type.

If the Scheduled Discount is going to be restricted to specific member of golf categories, check off Apply Discount to Selected Categories Only and then toggle on the categories by clicking on them in the list below and then click on the Toggle button.

When complete, click OK at the bottom of the form.

Step 2:  Add Sales Items to the Scheduled Discount

Typically, items are added to a Scheduled Discount by dragging the sales category from the Inventory Manager onto the Scheduled Discount (see below).

If the category being added has subcategories the following dialogue will appear.

Make the desire choice.

As sales categories are added to the Scheduled Discount, they will appear in an expandable grid under the line item in the discount listing.

Step 3: Set the Schedule

To set the schedule for a Scheduled Discount, click on the Scheduled Discount in the discount listing and then double click anywhere in the calendar.

Step 3 a: Specific Date Range

If the Scheduled Discount is for a specific date range, complete the Start and End time fields in the form above (those are the only fields which require completion) and then click Save and Close on the Tool Bar.

Note: The Scheduled Discount will be in effect from the date and time of the Start Time until the date and time of the End Time.

Step 3 b: Recurring Schedule

If the Scheduled Discount is recurring, (for example Wednesday Night Men's League gets 25% off beer on Wednesdays from May 15 until August 31 between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM), click on the Recurrence button on the New Appointment - Appointment Form above.

Complete the form and click OK, then click Save and Close on the New Appointment - Appointment form.

The dates and times will appear on the calendar.

Modifying a Scheduled Discount

Modify the Discount

To modify the main characteristics of the Scheduled Discount, click on the Scheduled Discount in the discount list and then click on the edit button on the Tool Bar.  Make your desired changes and then click OK.

To delete the Scheduled Discount, click on the Scheduled Discount in the discount list and then click on the delete button on the Tool Bar.  Confirm the deletion when the dialogue box appears.

Modify Discount Sales items

To add sales categories to a Scheduled Discount, follow the same steps as you did when you originally added sales categories.

To delete sales categories, expand the Scheduled Discount in the discount list until you expose the sales category to delete, click on the category line then click on the Delete button on the Tool Bar. Confirm the deletion when the dialogue box appears.

Modify Discount Schedule

To modify the schedule of the Scheduled Discount, click on the Scheduled Discount in the discount list and then double click on the calendar.  Using the same steps you used to create the schedule, make your changes and Save.

Cloning a Scheduled Discount

You may wish to replicate a Scheduled Discount. For example, you may wish to run the same golf shop sale you offered this year in subsequent years.  To clone a Scheduled Discount, select it from the discount list and click the copy button, make any changes to the new Scheduled Discount and then click OK.  Next edit the Scheduled Discount dates as described above.

Show/Hide Schedules

This option will show or hide the schedule at the bottom of the form.
